| Yeah I guess it's moot. Because it's required, even if it was only for walk up ATM's, they would probably still put the same buttons on all atm machines just for cost reasons. | ||||

| I dunno. The cost of those headphone units would have to be so much that they offset the savings of only having one production line. I don't know how much they cost so I can't answer that. | ||||

| Jimeigh: I'm almost blind & at best only semi-literate, ..., do you only half hate me? As for ATMs i can imagine a blind car passenger using a machine. But then I've never seen a drive thru ATM so perhaps it would still be impractical for them to use it with or without braille keys. I think that a society should do all it can to accomodate the disabled, although perhaps not to the point of remoddeling historic buildings. I think that UK veterans associactrions have historically done very little to get building regs changed to favour disabled access which I think is appalling given the access to politicos that they've had. Publically complaining about this to people collecting for 'Poppy Day' has led to threats & pub bannings for me UK law now requires that all public buildings have wheelchair access. GOOD! ABOUT BLOODY TIME Most firms are required to meet a 'disabled' quota on their employment rolls. I'm more ambivilant on this one. Right now, in the library, I can here a female robotic voice reading a website to a blindman. Suing Target seems a bit OTT, but typically sep-ish MES sez: who wants to buy a mitsubushi? | No, No, No! Lets bring it on! If a small club must have a wheelchair ramp to a stage why stop now? Personally I would be proud help lift someone in a wheelchair to a stage if they were in fact a performer! ![]() But if we are going to play universal accomondation to "feel good" about ourselves why spare the internet? What is Liberty Lounge doing to accomodate people with disabilities? ![]() Spell check would help me! ![]() I be a victom of a pubic sholl systum! | ||||

| Perhaps the suit is to purely draw attention to the issue? If I were are Target shareholder I'd want the site to be blind accessible just to get the extra sales. They could more easily get run over there, where golf carts are further quieted by grass. They could also fall into a sandtrap and die.

The recent law changes here requiring easy acress for wheelchairs etc have resulted in some extremely poorly thought out & executed efforts. Still, ..., its all economic growth & therefore must be a good thing, ..., possibly | ||||

| Lets be honest. The ADA has good intentions. Has had many good and just results in public accommodations we taxpayers vote and pay for. But in the private sector it has become another trial lawyers lottery at the expense of everyone else. Common sense reform can not be that hard can it? | ||||
