| BLIND people are suing Target.... Judge allows class action against Target Web site - Yahoo! News get this.. they are suing target because... thier WEBSITE is inaccassable to blind people. Um. what? what do you want them to do? Make computer monitors suddenly turn into brail devices? The ENTIRE INTERNET is inaccessable to blind people. I mean maybe there are some websites that are just audio recordings, but the entire premise of a website is visual. How do you make something that is based on a visual concept accessable to someone who can't see? Should there be an audio feed that describes the site? "Hey this is the Target website. If you could see, you might notice the red Target logo. As if "red" means anything to you. Well unless you used to be able to see. That sucks. Then there are some links below that you can't use because you can't see them. If you could you would see links for home goods, lawn and garden, appliances, bedding, and stuff for people who can see. Just kidding about that last part. but maybe we are not. You can't see it anyway. Moving on.... I seriously don't understand this. Why don't they sue Ford for making cars innaccessable to blind people? I don't see how this lawsuit can possibly win... although it's California so who knows. the 9th Circuit court is a bunch of pot smoking anti-capitalist liberals. | ||||

| Have you ever seen the Bullshit! episode about disabilities? This reminds me of the brail instructions and buttons on a drive up ATM. It makes no sense. I'm going to go sue an OBGYN because I can't have a baby. | ||||

| Should people also be required to make a minimum amount of noise? I've had someone sneak up on me in a parking lot. I think everyone should be required to wear bells so that won't happen any more. | ||||

| Speaking of.... There was a law firm near here that was going to every place they could find and if it didn't have a ramp they sued immediately. Even Historic buildings that they try to keep as authentic as possible! I don't remember what ever came of those though. Last I heard they were going to keep some of the historic buildings closed to the public all together so they wouldn't have to change the outside of them. | ||||

| no, I don't think people should be required to wear bells. The consequences of being run into by another person IMO are not as severe as those of being hit by a car. What do you think? | ||||

If they didn't, they would actualy be in violation of the federal laws and could be fined by the federal government. However the Author of "The Economic Naturalist" gives this explanation Robert Frank discusses his new book
