ANother world series for the Sox?

Beckett is a fire breathing baseball god. The sox lineup is stacked, and the Angels still have to get past Dice K, the league leader in K's. Then Schilling, the world series winning veteran. I fully expect the Yanks to mak short work of the indians and then it's another 7 game series for the AL title.

The NL is a joke, so no matter who wins over there, The Sox will kill them.

It's lookin real good. REAL good.

as much as I hate to say it, if we go up against the yanks I feel like it's not going to be good. they have been owning us lately. especially gayrod. as much as I like the indians and would like to see them victorious, I think the yanks are going to take it. It also depends how our pitching lines up with theres and if we can get into Rivera's head again, like we have in the past....

but if we fail, I think the cubbies will take them out, because if it's not our year, it's the last of the curses that is going to be reversed....

Just like the AL was supposed to kill the NL last year right? That series didn't even go to 7 games...that's why the games are played

I think this year is different. You have the RedSox which on paper really should be unbeatable. Arguably the best pitching staff in baseball this year and pitching is what counts in the post season. Just look at Becketts performance last night. He was throwing nasty stuff all night. 97 and 98mph pitches that had movement.
Then you have Cleveland which tied the Sox with the best records in all of baseball. Then you have the always dangerous Yankees with a powerhouse of an offense and pretty solid pitching. And of course the Angels which no one wants to face.

The NL we have the Phillies facing the rockies, two marginal teams, the Phils don't even belong in the playoffs. Then the Diamond backs and the Cubs? I just don't see any of them standing up to any of the AL teams.

How was that so much different than last year? The Tigers had an awesome pitching staff, the Yanks were the Yanks, the Angels were there and so was the Sox. Everyone thought the only threat from the NL was the Mets and when they got knocked out, everyone was ready to put the crown on the tigers...be careful, the Sox are very good, but very good does not mean they will win if they run into a team that has momentum and confidence..the Mets learned that that the hard way

to quote a guy at work that i just was talking with not even a minute ago, "all four teams on the AL are so much better than any of the NL teams right now, it's not even going to matter"......

amen to that brother. unless the yanks go to the WS cause i am routing NL all the way baby.

Look at the momentum the Rockies and Phillies have going into the playoffs.

I know. I remember when I was about 15 or 16 working at an Eagle Food store in IL and the Cubs made the playoffs (1979 or 80?). We always had elevator music pumped into the store and the manager told me to figure out how to make it get the Cubs game. I did. We got so many compliments from the customers.

He's so good it's sick.

I heard they walked Big Papi so they could face Manny? What the fuck... I'd want no part of Manny.

Yup. Intentional walk. I can't say I blame them though. Ortiz has been more of a threat lataely than Manny has... but it's a gamble. Not only because of Manny but because after Manny comes Lowell who is also clutch. There really is no safe part of the lineup.
