The Wii version is wireless and you put the controller in the guitar. I guess it uses the accelerometer of the Wii Remote to add some features to the guitar as well. I can't wait. I've never had the game and only played it a few times.

Well, I bought the game the other day. Now my Godson has just about moved in and I can't get him off the damn thing. But I have gotten about an hour or so on it and it is a friggen blast. I suck so bad on anything but easy so I am hoping by the time I finish easy I will be ready for medium. At the end of some sections you have to "battle" someone else. The first battle is with Rage Against the Machines Tom Morello. It's an original piece that he wrote just for GH3 and it is amazing. The other battle I have done was against Slash and his piece was also an original written and preformed by him for the game.

I'm looking forward to getting good enough that I can play online against other people. It looks like I need to get a 2nd guitar too so we can battle each other in the house.

Rock Band is an upcoming music video game under development by Harmonix Music Systems, published by MTV Games, and to be distributed by Electronic Arts Partners. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are scheduled for a North American release on November 20, 2007,[1] while the PlayStation 2 version will be released in North America on December 10, 2007.[7] The game will be released in Europe in early 2008.[5]

Rock Band will allow players to perform in virtual "bands" by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different instrument-based peripherals (a guitar peripheral for guitar and bass guitar sequences, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). These instruments will be used to simulate the playing of rock music by hitting scrolling notes on-screen. Players using next-gen consoles can interact through both online and offline multiplayer capabilities. In addition to the songs that will ship on the game disc, potentially hundreds of new tracks will be made available as downloadable content. But it is only coming out for 360 and PS3

Well, this is kind of old but maybe there is a chance:

April 2, 2007 - During a conference call to announce its latest music game Rock Band for release on Xbox 360 and PS3, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos hinted strongly that a Wii-specific version of the title would be coming out in the future. When asked if there was any chance Rock Band would arrive on Wii, Rigopulos said without hesitation, "Absolutely."

"We will, at some time, bring Rock Band to every [important] platform," Rigopulos said. He added that Harmonix would optimize future versions of Rock Band to fit the strengths of the platform. "I think the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise."

Rock Band comes to Xbox 360 and PS3 this holiday. No Wii version has been officially announced.

Well, I got sick of waiting for Rock Band to come out for Wii. They are saying they will release it for Wii but give no dates. So, as much fun as we have had with GH3 (we even bought a 2nd game just so we could get another Guitar!) I felt we needed to step up to to Rock Band.

So, I bought an XBox 360 and Rock Band. What a friggen blast. As much fun as GH is RB is twice as much fun. We always have friends and family over so almost every night we have a jam session going. If you have a lot of friends that love to sing and play music this is the game to have. It's amazing.

I'm totally like the drummer from Def Leppard, I can get 98% on easy on most songs drumming with just one hand.

I love my GH3 - I'm still trying to 5 star all the songs on hard, but that's not looking good

Haven't played rock band yet though
