I don't follow Rush's career. What I do know is that the letter is based an audio clip that was posted on MediaMatters and the assertion claimed was an unfounded lie.

Did he knock just those two guys or any miliary person who opposed the war. I know that he has been an ass before like when he knocked clinton's daughter when she was a teenage for her looks. That was down right despicable.

He knocked those guys and the liberals that made them hero's for slamming the military.

He has said multiple times that he respects Iraq veterans views that don't agree with his. That doesn't make him change his mind about his own views though.

I can't believe the IQ drop just reading the responses to this post. No wonder we can't get a honest political discussion going on this board with this amount of intellectual dishonesty and childish behavior. You don't need to like or even agree with Rush to understand how he was misrepresented in this instance. Some people should be ashamed of themselves!

But then people with revolving case by case morals are really just partisan rock throwers to begin with anyway. Who am I to suggest a higher standard?

No, but intellectual dishonesty can be considered cutting off someone's complete thought and taking their words out of context in attempt to prove a point that may or may not exist. And it's exceptionally dishonest when you mislead people into thinking they have enough of the whole story to draw a positive conclusion. Almost every person I know who has heard the transcript in full realizes what Rush was talking about. Only a very select few think otherwise.

I listened to the entire thing, his comments weren't limited IMO, he agreed with the caller, didn't rebuke him, and he's done the same thing in the past -- denigrating the service of people with different political opinions, so I've come to a different conclusion.

Bottom line is I'm glad some good is coming out of the whole incident.
