yes exactly!

I'm saying that if the arguement is that they can't protest at funerals because it keeps the military from completing a mission, the evidence speaks the opposite.

I don't believe that to be a valid argument anyways, just making that point.

Feel free to point out a law that says you cannot protest. There are none, only laws that limit how you protest.

From time to time, local permit laws collide in court with the freedoms of assembly and of speech, such as in February 2003 when protests were anticipated over the exclusion of women from membership at the Augusta National Golf Club where golf's Masters Tournament is played every year. The Richmond County, Georgia county commission implemented a new rule requiring 20 days of advance notice before a protest, and giving the county sheriff the power to approve or deny permits, and to dictate the location of demonstrations. The sheriff turned down a permit to protest in front of the golf club but approved a protest half a mile away. Two courts upheld the ordinance granting the sheriff this power.

yup

who gives a fuck what people say if they don't disrupt the normal daily lives of others.

i could care less who protests down my streets and what they say, as long as i can continue my work, drive on teh streets, and get on with my work. but the moment they disrupt the normal process of things is the moment they infringe on my rights as an american citizen.

And they still had their protest, just not where they wanted to.

I have no problem with moving these people if they can get laws on the books, but many are seeking to silence them totally and that's wrong.

i never said there were laws against protesting. i said there were laws that suggest people cannot use the 'freedom of speech' excuse anytime and anywhere. i've already posted several examples.

nobody is seeking to silence them. they are seaking to remove them from near the funeral.

It's like saying that commercials on TV are violating your right to watch your show.

i'm trying to make the connection, but i can't quite figure out where gay marriage fits in to the funeral disruptions and public protesting. please help.
