| The reason our military is doing so well in Iraq and serving so honorably is because we have an all volunteer force. Change that and things would be different. There's no reason to jump the gun on a draft. | ||||

| In my experience the draft has never united but has been a great divider. In the sixties it added fuel to the anti war movement. It grew incrediably after the draft was adopted. The college kids especially were against the draft and their demonstrations grew wilder after the draft. Every time they have talked about it there has been great opposition.
