2,400,000,000,000

It was released that the new projected total cost of this conflict is going to be 2.4 trillion dollars (up from the 80 billion Wolfowitz claimed at the beginning). Thats $8,000 for every person in this country, not to mention the extra cost on those who actually serve. Where is the oil for reconstruction money? When is enough going to be enough? This shit needs to get wrapped up. It is projected we will have 30,000 - 70,000 soldiers there for 10 more years. Its already cost 600 billion dollars. What needs to be done to fix this? Where are all these promises that were made before going in and where is the accountability?

There is no accountability - how we expect those in power to police themselves? But they can sure give themselves awesome healthcare and raises though...

Then there is talk of going in to Iran for the 'possibility' of nuclear weapons. Are these people out of their fucking minds...seriously. If this country can't see through this and understand the consequences of our actions...we are in some decent amount of trouble. Its time for accountability, i dont care what letter is by their name when they bullshit their way through debates and tv interviews.

If Iran really wants Nuclear weapons, they are going to get it...we tried tough talk with North Koreans, Pakistanis but it did not work either. More and more countries are going to attain the technology and we better get used to it and shift our diplomatic strategy accordingly.

As for the talk, I don't think Bush will invade Iran, that is political suicide, the country is not behind him at all and this will give the Demos the backbone to finally fight hard against him. Plus he will kill his own part's chances of winning anything in 08

Where's the whole story? I read an article about this on CNN earlier. It assumed that the war in Iraq would last at its current level for another 10 years. Seems unlikely to me and therefore the article is reaching pretty hard to get some rather  numbers.

How about you explain how it's unlikely first...

You think we'll have 160,000 troops in Iraq the next 10 years?

It's unlikely because republicans are getting tired of this mess as are democrats AND there's finally some substantial progress on that front.

We have how many in North Korea? How many in Germany? How many in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia?
