Im my example you are behind the wheel of a machine that could kill, in this guys case he was standing in front of a mic with cops all around him. More cops are hurt or killed pulling someone over than are hurt or killed kicking students out of forums.

Nobody said he was threatening anybody. He was refusing to comply, and they used the taser to force compliance. They executed a textbook escalation of force, and did nothing wrong whatsoever.

I completely agree with him on this point as I brought it up early in this discussion.

Meyer: Politicians are not used to being asked the hard questions. I think free speech has been willfully discarded to an extent by American journalists. They have stopped asking questions that matter. Maybe their refusal to be vocal is what makes my outburst look so surprising in contrast.

And if he hadn't gone spastic and had actually asked a "hard question" then he might have a point. But he didn't. He was rude to the speaker, was rude to the other people in line, was rude to the cops, and he ranted and raved for nearly 2 minutes before finally being shut down.

He says "Politicians are not used to being asked the hard questions" and the implication is Kerry is against free speech because he didn't/couldn't/wouldn't/refused to answer. Bullshit. Kerry had nothing to do with why that asshole was removed. That asshole is the entire reason he was removed.

Basically you're saying I can jump onto a baseball field during a game and run around with a sign denouncing the war in iraq. And then when I removed I can claim "BUSH HAS ME SILENCED!!!" You think that's ok? Should everyone else be inconvenienced so *I* can say what I think even though the event is not mine??

And yes that's perfectly analogous to the taser situation.....I would have been disrupting an event that wasn't mine in a place that wasn't mine. I would have been rude to other attendees, and I would have been removed by the event organizers. Exact same as that asshole's situation.
