Right now unions are getting the shaft we not only have the pro business republicans and Bush president but the new democrats like mr and mrs Clinton are pro business.

Then why do they represent about 14% of the Nations workforce and almost half of that is government workers? Not people fighting Greedy Capitalist, but people paying dues to support more government jobs? Are the other 86% percent slaves? Or do they have a real competitive market that does not keep them down for the job security of the lazy and incompetent who have seniority in a closed system?

The unions have been to sucessful and have been able to pressure the government into protecting the workers of this country so many people think they don't need them anymore. Most of the laws protecting workers were pushed by the unions. I don't like government unions either but unions are important in our system. If unions get better wages the people in the same field usually get near or just as good. Unions do the work and everyone else benefits, but they don't want to join and pay up. My own opinion is that Marx would have been right about capitalism and it would have destroyed itself if it had not been for unions. It is harder to see their importance now and their leadership seems to be in sorry shape.
