He tested that as well. But with the bar peanuts and pretzels. He found no increase in any bacteria compared to the control peanuts. He said the salt probably helped.

That's why I always use a paper towel or whatever to open the door handles when leaving public bathrooms. I've gotten a few weird looks.

get a paper towel
put under arm
wash hands
dry hands with paper towel
use paper towel to open door
toss paper towel

in other words the paper towel handle ain't clean, either

If you clean your house regularly then I would bet the toilet seat and bowl will have the least bacteria present which means they will be the cleanest. Most people use bleach which kills everything when they clean the bathroom. The dirtiest place is usually the kitchen sink. It is always wet and left over food which makes it a perfect place to grow bacteria.
