| Edwards ad hits a homerun
That's going to be painful if it's played in Iowa, New Hampshire, etc over and over again. Most people missed the actual debate. That is an effective ad. It hits her on key issues important to those state. The Democrats are going to bring themselves down quicker then the Republicans can do it. They really have this election in the bag, but they're starting to do to good of a job slandering each other. That anti-Hillary ad is more effective than anything I've seen coming from the GOP.

| There's polling data today that showed that although it was a misstep, it hasn't decreased support for her.. That was before this ad has gotten much play though, be interesting to see how it works out a few weeks from now though. | ||||

This ad is a great political ad. The video is all of Hillary speaking herself. They edited out her long winded answers which made a lot more sense than this ad gives her credit for. I think that's what makes the ad so effective. It's not John Edwards talking about Hillary, it's all Hillary in the ad and it although it stretches the truth a bit, it does completely show that she's playing politics on major issues. And no matter what side of the fence you're on in with Iraq, immigration, social security, you disagree with her because she's given so many contradictory responses without taking a real stance.

| I don't think the point of this ad was to show Edwards is better than Hillary. If that were the case he would have promoted himself. The point is to inform undecided/independent voters (not you) of what the frontrunner is all about. In effect harming her numbers to filter down to everyone else. I think it's a very effective ad because it's all her talking in the same clothes at the same forum. That is portrayed. There's no voiceover, there's nobody vocally telling you what to think. It's just a series of videos of Hillary telling you where she stands and letting you decide whether you think she's full of shit. Most people are going to watch this ad and realize it's biased, but also realize she's all over the map and attempting to cover every base. | ||||

| On a more general note, it sucks that soundbyte politics are the staple of our political diet in the US.. there's very rarely any substantive debate between candidates, and even less between the candidate and the public.. we're talked down to and not treated like intelligent adults A long time ago I posted a clip from the Daily Show that highlighted the differences between our "town hall" meetings.. it makes me really sad. | ||||

| Ker POW! Or as my son would say oh DANG! haha!!! I still think Billary's taking the heat right now so Edwards can slowly slide into the #1 position without any real opposition. I'm starting to wonder if my earlier assertation is correct, though, about him choosing her to be VP after he wins the primaries. He may, in fact, choose Obama (and what self-respecting black person would dare not vote for a black guy for VP?!?). | ||||

| The most I know about Edwards' stance on the issues is he's an international elistist member of the CFR, and thinks that "the War on Terror is a bumper sticker, not a plan." | ||||

I think this is going to be seen as a turning point in her election. There really is no good reason to vote for Hillary that I can see. I don't see anything positive that separates her from the other candidates running. She's just the candidate of convenience, people think she'll win so they'll vote for her. As soon as they see signs of weakness, she's done. There's really no viable reasons to vote for her that I can see. She's not honest, she hasn't owned up to her Iraq vote, she's neck deep in illegal contributions, the history she's running on she's got locked up in the archives and won't release it and lies about being able to release it, she waffles on issues, she weak and pulls the gender card when the going gets tough, she gives of a hysterical fake laugh when asked questions on things like immigration and social security to deflect from answering the questions, she's running on what I would think most people realize is a fake persona/moderate status to garnish votes, etc. I really can't think of anything that makes her better than the people she's running against.
