| I think he copied off a british politician nearly 20 years ago...to use some material for a speach he had to make. Other than that..he has been fairly clean as far as I know. Though he has been a career politician, he is not wealthy by any means. Has been in the senate forever, having to wait like 2-3 weeks because he was too young. He has over come a lot of adversity in his life and seems to be genuinely interested in serving the public interest...not taking bribes, touching congressional pages, or passing huge amounts of pork money to float his state and buy votes. | ||||

| On the Biden thing, A-hole doesn't provide much information, but he always seems to be apologizing by Wednesday for stuff he said with conviction on Monday. I can recall several of those apologies wherein I agreed with what he said on Monday and wished he'd stop being sorry. He once apologized for not giving credit in a speech to a string of words that were liftted from some previous speech by some previous speechgiver. I saw no reason for the apology, unless he didn't intend to use the words. Tf Franklin or Twain said something relevant to a point I wanted to make I'd use their words and be goddam glad they gave them to me to use. Speeches are not literature, and you'd better get used to the idea that not every phrase needs to be proofed for plagerism. I could understand not wanting a President who worries about covering his tracks as much as Biden, But that't just me. | ||||

| Considering the other candidates and what they bring to the table... I won't hold it against him for over apologizing. He apologized for words he lifted to use in a speach and not crediting the person who originally said it...thus implying he came up with it on his own. Look at the other candidates and check out their faults. Whether its Rudy being divorced 3 times, Hillary waffling positions every 5 minutes, or Kucinich seeing UFO's... i'll take a guy who admits mistakes. His only fault is that he may rush to judgement when politically pressured or presented with incorrect information... such as Iraq. Last edited by DosEquis; 11-06-2007 at 12:53 PM. | ||||

| The first thing I thought when I read the thread title was "Bill Richardson". He's the only democrat running who could get my vote. He's got experience, and he can attract republican voters (like me). | ||||

| With Biden you would have someone who would finally stand up for the working man how long has it been since we have had anyone who cared about us. His foreign policy stances seem thoughtful and he would understand what he was doing and not be led around by the nose by the sly dogs. | ||||

| Biden and Richardson are both good. I like Biden personally but don't think he will make it far unfortunately. | ||||

| The entire media fell in love with the narrative of him as an "average Joe" and didn't care about his inability to be articulate.. at least not to the level that they would for someone like Richardson There's a great comic that illustrated the point, let me see if I can find it... | ||||

| America mocked him and called him stupid. He wasn't given a pass, regardless of whatever comic you can find. He won the election despite poor debate performances not because of charisma, but because America didn't want to vote for Kerry. | ||||

| America voted him into office once and got damn close to doing so the first time around (popular vote) He was called stupid by many people, sure, but he was also given a pass for it by the media and the Republican party and those who voted for him.. You can disagree, but my point is that Bush's case was unique, Richardson's poor performance in the debates limits him from being successful despite his impressive resume If another candidate came along that sounded borderline retarded, they'd have no shot. Bush was supposed to be an "average joe" who didn't have to be articulate to get things done, the other candidates are not.. | ||||
