Upcoming Interview: 11/7/07 - Marcelo Da Luz, Power of 1 Solar Car

This Wednesday I'm interviewing the flight attendant who built a $500,000 solar powered car, and wants to reduce the price of it to $20-$30k so that it is affordable to consumers. His website is:

The Power of One solar - car project, home

Any questions you'd be interested in hearing answers to, post here..

How does he intend to lower the price of the vehicle? Is he looking for federal assistance?

How soon until he can get the cost affordable.

What is the quality of the ride compared to a hybrid/gasoline powered vehicle. What would be the horsepower comparison to his engine?

How environmentally safe is the production of his vehicles.

What kind of maintenance is needed for them.

How far can the vehicle go on batteries? (assuming its cloudy and/or dark)
What type of batteries does it use? Once the batteries are decharged how long does it take to recharge them?
How expensive are the solar cells to replace if damaged?
By accelerating hard/quickly how much does that decrease the range of the vehicle?

Ask him which consumers he thinks can afford a 30 thousand dollar car? Certainly not most of the US

Also ask him what he thinks the longevity of the car is

I'd also like to know how energy efficient the process of making solar panels is
