| Oh, my bad. I didn't realize that ONLY best-selling bands are able to discern good music from shit. To know that Eddie Van Halen is a better guitarist than you are, I don't have to play guitar better than either of you. I merely have to listen. | ||||

| Cobain was a GREAT artist... He is designated a top guitar player because there's more to being a guitar player than playing "clean." I PERSONALLY don't think he was a top 20 player if rated just on his finger abilities...but when you add in the other factors, creativity, uniqueness, etc...he's #12. Of course, this is all opinion...just like the people saying he sucked. I think a majority of critics, artists, fans think otherwise... | ||||

| He was a mediocre artist. All he was good at is shooting heroin and sounding angry into the mic. He was only influential because there were a lot of angry kids who wanted to hear people sounding angry.
If you want to call him the #12 most influential musician, I still won't agree, but it's a lot stronger claim than calling him the #12 greatest guitarist.
Who else? I'm sure he wasn't a major influence on Neil Young, Satriani, Van Halen, or BB King. So what important guitarists (NOT the same thing as important artists) legitimately claim Cobain as a major influence? | ||||

| For crying out loud, Joe Walsh and Ted Nugent aren't on that list. They're both better than at least half those guys. | ||||
