| Surely there should be another pic where KC considers the impact the bear may have on his skag stash? either way his 'man who saves the world' from thr 'unplugged' stuff is some of the best footage ever, ..., makes it look effortless, just like the best of the Elvis 68 stuff. | ||||

| Wow, hatin' on a guy that's been dead for more than a decade? What did Kurt do lately to you to deserve being hated on right now? Decay a little more? Hate to break it to ya, Pub, but KC was a tad famous when he was alive, too. "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" from Unplugged was excellent. The last sustained note at the end of the song should give anyone with a soul goosebumps. If you claim to like punk rock or hard rock music, and you don't appreciate Cobain, it's your loss. If you DON'T like punk or hard rock and you don't like Cobain, that's perfectly understandable. But, no one cares what music you don't like, and it's probable that you aren't going to like an artist that works in a genre that you don't like, no matter how superior his talent. And make no mistake, his performing and songwriting talent was superior. "I miss the comfort in being sad." Sorry, that's a genius song lyric. That's not just my opinion, either. It's been scientifically proven that that line kicks 98.7% ass. Cobain was a true punk rocker. He will be in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, and his induction will be justly deserved. Nobody cares if you hate him, especially Nirvana fans. I doubt Kurt himself would have cared what you thought of him when he was alive, and he sure as shit doesn't care now. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Cobain hated himself more than you ever could! As they say, actions speak louder than words! Go back to your Morrissey and Brittany records, old man! | ||||

| i'd just like to say that a 'rock & roll hall of fame' into which one is inducted is about the most un-rock & roll idea i've ever heard of & I dount he'd've given a flying monkeys about it all, ever meanwhile overly-contentious debates upon the merit, significance & otherwise of various musics is the purpose of life IMO | ||||

| Eh, I dunno. Yes he was part of the grunge movement, but he wasn't the movement all on his own. There were plenty of other big groups like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, etc. Pearl Jam was just as popular, and IMO had better music, were more talented but Eddie Veder isn't as famous as Cobain... probably because Cobain blew his own head off with a shotgun, not because he was so much better than anyone else of the time. | ||||

| jeez guys. how old are all of you???? i know i'm younger than some, and older than others, but KC shot himself when I was a sophomore in highschool. even I remember that day. the school literally stopped dead in its tracks. hundreds of kids started crying. Nirvana was HUGE. it was the leading grunge band and broke through MTV. he continued being famous after his death, but for christ's sake, the man was a huge influence to other grunge bands. Nirvana was way more popular that pearl jam or any of those other bands. I liked Nirvana alright when he was still alive and pretty much the same after. I think I own two of their cds. i'm not even a big fan of them that much (I was more into Alanis Morressette and NIN when KC died) but I can recognize and remember how much the music world was effected when he died. just recognize it, even if you didn't particularly like his music. | ||||

Yes they were popular but they were not dominant on the charts. Yes they had hits but so did other bands. Pearl Jam, U2, Soundgarden, etc... all were on the charts just as often as Nirvana. ~~~~ www.rocklist.net ~~~~ I turned 30 on Monday | ||||
