Since he admitted it I'm going to guess much of the rest was true as well and the landscaper didn't deserve his $250,000 and the dog doesn't deserve to die. | ||||

| The original post hasn't changed. It was edited 7 minutes after posted, but it has been the same since then. People just ignored or missed what was written on the bottom. | ||||

| To clarify the facts of the event as unbiased as possible: Landscapers were supposed to come to the property to do work. They came a couple hours early, the dogs were out. The homeowners asked them to wait in their vehicle while they put the dogs in the house. They took too long and the landscapers decided to get to work anyway. Congo and the puppies started barking at the landscapers. One of them got scared and used a rake. Another landscaper stood behind the homeowner to put her between himself and the dogs. While doing this the landscaper accidentally knocked down the homeowner. Congo then attacked. The homeowner has reported some of the puppies had marks on their snouts from being hit with the rake. The landscapers deny hitting the puppies with the rake. The prosecutor offered them a deal, register Congo as a potentially dangerous animal and pay a fine to the state every year. The family refused and said their dog was not vicious. The judge disagreed and condemned Congo to death. Congo was held at a shelter where he was reportedly very depressed and wouldn't eat unless he was handfed. The workers of the shelter reported Congo was well behaved. The dog had received obedience training as a pup. Friends and family of Congo started writing newspapers and calling radio shows expressing how wonderful of a dog Congo is and how their children play with him all the time with no fear of Congo attacking, even after the incident. The family appealed the ruling and thus far the new judge appears to be more lenient, Congo has returned home with the family for now and it looks like the original death sentence will be successfully appealed. | Dead Dog Waiting - Yahoo! News there are other things, too, like the fact that the landscaper's story has changed 3 times and that the animal control officer seems a bit overly involved in making the dog and owners look bad. | ||||
