I think Edwards has the recognition he does because he was the VP candidate in '04, not so much because of his haircut....

| I don't think he was as clear as he could have been on abortion, he could have said plainly that if the states choose to legalize it, then he would accept it as President, but still said what he believes personally as something seperate His answer was kind of muddled. I also would have liked to have heard him spend more time explaining about people having to drive out of state to get an abortion, and what about poor people who couldn't afford to do that, etc.. ![]() Definitely didn't have enough time, he should have been given 10 or so minutes at least IMO.. | ||||

If they were good at asking questions rather than fulfilling personal agenda's, they would have asked questions like, "Congressman Paul, How will you change America for the better?" "Dr. No, What can we do about the 9 trillion of debt our nation currently has?" "Senor Ron, what is your stance on Illegal Immigration?" "Dr. Ron, What would you do to solve the Health Care crisis in America?" "Ron Mon, what is your stance on the War on Drugs?" etc. etc. The "View"ers would have then got more out of the interview. The View's days are numbered....terrible hosts.... Fed Up

| You're wrong IMO.. abortion is an issue that many women care deeply about, she might have her personal beliefs, but her questions were very relevant for the audience of the show. The idea that somehow it's about it being a liberal show is far off the mark. If you go on a show targeted to women to talk about politics, it doesn't matter whether or not they're Republican or Democrat, you're going to spend a significant amount of time talking about abortion.. The only thing that will change is the opinion of the questioner. | ||||

But as far as it being a Liberal show, I don't take that back. There was no one there that stood up for the Conservative point of view but Ron Paul correct? They have always had only one conservative voice for the last two years or so. And that voice was continually picked on...and also, that voice was not a good rep for the consrevative point of view IMO. Fed Up

| I don't think they claimed to be fair and balanced, they might be a liberal show, but it's immaterial to the fact that abortion was an issue they spent a lot of time on.. Which was my point. That had more to do with the gender that makes up the audience. | ||||

| Backstage with Ron Paul on The View Backstage with Ron Paul on The View Posted by Tex MacRae at December 4, 2007 06:59 PM This is an interesting article by Z. Byron Wolf, who was backstage with Ron Paul for his "The View" appearance: Told that a "View" co-host would ask him about China, Paul said, "China? Did something happen overnight in China? I would have guessed they would ask about Iran and the intelligence report," he said. Paul has long been a critic of the Bush administration's foreign policy. At that moment the president was giving a news conference at which, despite evidence that Iran has abandoned its nuclear weapons program, he would not rule out a military strike against the Islamic country.Ladies' Man: Ron Paul's 'View' | ||||

| I like how they take up half the time arguing about abortion. Guess I really shouldn't be surprised considering it is a woman's show. | ||||

Where most politicians would have tried to change the subject quickly he had no problems sitting there discussing it for however long they wanted to and on any topic of the issue. To me that shows class.
I thought the questions on abortion were fairly targeted and they followed up fairly well on his responses. I thought it was a healthy debate on abortion, nobody got heated and they all got some good points out and in the end it appeared they agreed to disagree with no hard feelings. That's much better than I would suspect other GOP candidates would have been able to do. I consider myself pro-choice, but found his views were very close to my own.
