Fred Thompson was the highlight of the worst debate ever

Last night was probably the worst debate ever, as we saw a horrible format and a terrible moderator. Fred is right in saying today's debates are flawed, and need a makeover.

The shining moment however was when the moderator asked an overly simplified question about a complex issue...global warming. A show-of-hands to support global warming?!!! Give me a break!

What's funny is the ones that DID raise their hands, including Mitt Romney (who then clapped when Fred took a stand), but then backed down when Fred refused to answer this question in this way.

What's worse is that Fred wanted to answer the question properly (if a 1 min answer could be proper for such a question) and she refused, only to allow the rest of the candidates their answer. What gives?

There is nothing unreasonable with what he said. While a skeptic, he believes the following:

it makes sense to take reasonable steps to reduce CO2 emissions without harming our economy...research and development into technologies that improve the environment, especially the reduction of CO2 emissions.

I have to admit, I agree.

Hey...don't shoot the messenger!

I'm not defending him or criticizing him...just pointing out what he said via the CFR that he is a part of and what the anti-CFR people said.

i must say, it was a good choice on Fred's part to wear a blue suit. as we know I am a McCain supporter, but Fred definitely did stand out in this shot.

Have to agree with that one Linzy...

As a Ron Paul supporter, I really don't want to see Paul positioned next to Thompson as they did with shorty Tancredo in the last debate.

Thomspon asked if he could be given the time to answer the question. Not just raise a hand like a robot dope. If this is the best attack Lew has he can shove off!

It was a stupid question...we Paulites know that! I give Thompson kudos for standing up to that line of questioning. As you know, he has been "trained" to be aware of such. Anyone with an understanding of basic NLP knows how to respond to nonsensical probes. If she truly spent a year analyzing and interviewing the candidates, as claimed, then she would have known to ask those who were ambivalent to the issue the right questions.

Ron Paul didn't raise his hand or answer the question she proposed.

Anyone who has read Griffin's; "The Creature From Jekyll Island," knows where Environmentalism fits in with the agenda of the elitist.

Does anyone seriously doubt this? Thompson, as we have discussed on another thread, isn't specific on the issue, but he is a member of the CFR...oh, and SAG too! (some good qualifcations to be President I guess

???)

I don't recall the details, but the idea that enviromentalism is being played up as a scam explains a great deal. Lots of big money is in play. Just the notion that we should abandon good science for "awareness" sounds like an ad campaign for stupid people. Lower your quality of life to feed someone elses money pot.
