Clinton Meltdown?

Well, it has been a very bad and very long campaign since the original debate slump. And things do not look better. I just happen to catch the end of the recent Democrat debate and the audiance survey afterward. One woman, who came in as a Clinton suporter said, and I quote "She looked tired and scripted." The Obama attack just backfired bigtime. It is like what everbody was waiting for from the War Machine and Obama got all the sympathy. Does anybody believe higher ups in the Clinton Campaign were not involved and approved of that little test?

Not looking good:

Never be so foolish as to underestimate the Clinton's. This is a team effort. They may not sleep together, but Bill would like to free roam the Whitehouse again. The negative attacks seem neutralized for the moment. That means she must go positive. Not easy for a candidate with so much Negative Vibe!

I saw a news report this afternoon saying her candidacy is severely threatened. Her backup of New Hampshire is gone. Most Iowans say she lost the debate. Obama is getting more confidence and is becoming the front-runner.

She fired Sheehan recently and that's been called damage control, but most people are saying he was doing as he was told. It's not looking good for her. Her campaign is spiraling downward.

I want to ask a serious question of Democrats on the board. And please don't take this as a personal attack on Clinton as a candidate. I already did that in the first post.

I get the feeling that a great many Democrats see a real good chance to put a fellow Democrat in the Whitehouse in 2008. And I agree. But I also get the impression that another 4 or 8 year run of Bill and Hillary Clinton seems almost like a wasted opportunity. Not that Democrats would not be happy with them over any Republican, but you sort of been there and done that already. You know how "they" will govern, you know the press will have a ball, and you know if will stir up the GOP like angry hornets just like it did in 1994 when the party lost the Congress. I get the feeling that a near majority of Democrats would rather gamble on an untested Obama or even Edwards rather than go through what you already acomplished in the 90's. I don't doubt Democrats will unite behind her if she gets her way, but a choice is still possible.
