And because more people are not walking around carrying any form of a firearm, less firearms are shot therefore you have your %'s. The numbers will change a little, but the proportions won't really change. It's not like liberalizing gun laws would send masses of people flocking to gun shops.

anti-gun groups arent the best for stats. Especially when many of them push out right lies.

Lets take that number as fact, remember the approx number of legal firearms owned by citizens is ~200 million so 1 in 400 are stolen. Now how does that give you the right to take firearms away from law abiding citizens?

That number did seem big, good job looking up a more accurate number

I mean, Johns Hopkins' number is 38.5 times larger than the ATF number. That's pretty fucked up.
