Mitt Romney, not so conservative

What has come of the conservative party when the top candidates thus far are considered nanny statists?

With Huckabee climbing the polls, we've really begun to take a look at his stances, and it seems he's hardly conservative himself. Even Romney has taken a swing at him, calling him another Bill Clinton:

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — To hear Mitt Romney tell it, Republican Mike Huckabee shares more with Democrat Bill Clinton than a hometown in Hope, Ark., and a stint as Arkansas governor.

Both men, Romney suggests, have left-leaning governing philosophies, particularly on taxes and spending.

"Governor Huckabee's record is more liberal than our nation needs right now," the former Massachusetts governor said in Iowa last week, seeking to link his GOP presidential rival to the former Democratic president who is loathed by many Republican loyalists.
But does Romney have any room to speak? I don't think so:

I want to restore values so children are protected from a societal cesspool of filth, pornography, violence, sex, and perversion. I’ve proposed that we enforce our obscenity laws again and that we get serious against those retailers that sell adult video games that are filled with violence and that we go after those retailers.
His ad makes no attempt to hide it:

Huckabee, Romney, Giuliani...not so conservative.

Huckabee would just be G.W. Bush part II. I do NOT want that. Romney while not too conservative would probably be one fo the best economic presidents we've ever had. The guy really knows economics, business, and how the business cycles work.

He's socially moderate but I dont think thats bad.

Compare his plan for the above posted to that of Edwards or Obama, who merely want a ratings system. Romney wants to jail offenders.

I don't like Mitt because he's changed every major stance he's had for what appears to be his presidential bid. I see him as a liar and a phony, self-serving in his interests to acquiring the White House. His views are all "safe" at this point. I don't trust that.
