| Paul was a very ascetic preacher, He preached against things such as the wearing of Jewelry, the doing up of ones hair and idolizing worldly objects (such as money and material gifts). Jesus himself told us not to store up goods for ourselves and said that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. So what do we do in celebration of these teachings? we buy each other material things. Jewelry, games, electronics, we give money. Call me crazy but I have always rather found that amusing and slightly ironical. On top of that you partake in Pagan religious festivals and customs; putting up holly decorating trees (which your holy book specifically tells you not to do). You pray in public and hold repetitive religious services so that men can see and hear you as the "hypocrits" do, even though you are instructed to go to your closet and pray unto your lord in private. I doubt Jesus' new covenant came about so as to OK you celebrating Pagan holidays and putting up pagan religious symbols in your home (the five pointed star). Not only that, but you actively lie to your children about the existence of Santa Clause and use this illusion to manipulate their behavior. Not that I have anything against Christians partaking in Christmas a social holiday. But as a religious one? I don't think that it really fits in well with Christianity. | Actually the pentagram was an ancient symbol for woman (goddess perhaps) and had no occult meaning until the christian church demonized it along with everything that was not christian. Christianity absorbed what it could and tried to kill off what it could not. Christmas is a fictional birthday for a fictional character so it does not matter how a person celebrates the holiday. it is a day off whether one worships peas and carrots on that day or not. Why worry about what people celebrate or don't, it's a national holiday, but I'd rather see Super Bowl as a holiday instead of Christmas. Then there is no religious connotation of either pagan or christian influence for the holiday. Christianity is what is wrong with America. It divides everything from its own churches to families and friends. Just say 'NO!' to religion. | ||||

| Because it brings together the family, you give gifts to your loved ones and spend time with them. I have nothing against the Christmas holiday or any holiday for that matter. I'm just not associated with any religion and that's my right to choose. | ||||
