Paul's biggest problem is the people that vote. Old people don't give a shit about the future of America. They want EVERYTHING given to them and don't care about their grandchildren. They expect their Social Security money and their Medicade. They don't care if America goes bankrupt in 20 years - they will be dead.

Those silly people fear that Paul will take away "what is theirs" and that is a problem.

It goes beyond that as well, people fear Paul would take away much of their gravy train, gov't jobs, entitlements, ect. People are lazy and all they want are their handouts.

If Paul could win and we got to keep our income tax dollars, I would be the happiest person on earth. I would be retiring much younger and much, MUCH richer. Too bad the selfish generation has destroyed the likelyhood of this happening.

You can see why they feel that way though. They have been bilked by the government for thier entire lives and they will be damned if some beurocrat will take what they already paid for.

But you and I can see that our generation is the one that will be screwed.

We know Social Security will be bankrupt. We know that in a decade Medicare and Medicaid will be bankrupt.

We are expected to pay for this all and we know we won't see any of it.

12.5% of our pay goes to Medicare/Caide/Social Security and we won't see a dime of it.

We work a month and a half a year to pay our share for those programs and we will never see it. Those benefits will be cut by our children, it is destined.

I don't see why we keep the game up. We know it is broke.

This is Rudy's response to his near dead-last finish in Iowa:

"None of this worries me - Sept. 11, there were times I was worried," Giuliani said.

And he really might win...

I get that Lou.

Does not make the current system right or good. But I get it.

Do you think this situation will get better or worse with the Boomer Retirement over the next 25 years?

Because I think it will get a whole lot WORSE!

Giuliani positive despite weak campaign
BY RICHARD SISK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

Friday, January 4th 2008, 1:01 AM

Rudy Giuliani remains positive despite sinking campaign.
BEDFORD, N.H. - He flatlined in Iowa and he's struggling in New Hampshire, but Rudy Giuliani shook off the early-state blues Thursday as only he can.

"None of this worries me - Sept. 11, there were times I was worried," Giuliani said.

Why? It's obviously not about being evangelical, but about being truly conservative. Isn't that what you would want to see? Consistency in beliefs?

Since Grandpa Fred is going out soon (his campaign has taken back it's multiple pledges to drop out, but that's the sure sign of doom)

All you really have left in the mold of Reagan/Bush is Romney/Rudy/McCain/Huckabee

Romney was too liberal, Rudy was too liberal, McCain was too liberal...and Huckabee? Too liberal

So, will the GOP even vote? Yes, but they'll still talk here about looking for a conservative candidate when they have a bone to pick with all of them

One thing is for sure, throwing Huckabee under the bus is throwing the evangelicals under the bus and they are the ones who run the GOP machine at the grass level, fiscal conservatives, neoconservatives, etc...they show up to vote and that's about it...the GOP can not survive without evangelical votes, they'll go back to a 1964 party of being a super-minority
