The benefits of killing him and not telling any is as follows (this is my theory anyway):

1) It keeps his supporters guessing when he will come back. People can't fill in the vacuum of him being gone if no one knows he is gone.

2) It prevents his supporters from using him as a myrter and an inspiration to get more supporters

3) It prevents the issue of what to do with his body. Say you killed him and his family demands a "proper" funeral and then see his supporters gather by the 1000's and again, get more support for the "cause".

4) It allows the CIA or whoever to release periodic recordings from "him" and see what comes of it. About a year ago there was a story about how after each release from him we capture or kill more high ranking people. "His" recordings are released, the CIA says "yup, that is him", his supports get on the horn and start talking to each other. The increase in activity after "his" speaches make it easier to track the bad guys.

5) It's been years since we have seen a video of him.

I guess there could be more reasons why not to let people know he is dead but that is all I can think of now.

The government is run by a general...the ambassador does not run the country, he is just incharge of trying to make nice relations with the US, so OFCOURSE he is going to try and make it sound nice...in an english message to the US

the ambassador is not representative of the pakistani government? so he's lying? is that why your story was pulled?
