You troubleshoot them the same. If it isn't a connection/spyware issue what more is there to debugging an actual browser?

Depends. One of the groups on campus force all their people to use Firefox because of the security issues with IE, and they'd rather force everyone on the one instead of having an IE6 slip through the cracks and make their network vulnerable.... or an update to IE7 that causes problems (which has happened on numerous occasions, and not JUST for IE, but windows in general).

However, our IS guys are really good, and when malware infiltrates and tries to replicate itself or bring down our network, they are fast to narrow down the source and block it off from the network.

Security is a BIG thing at Georgia Tech, and while my team doesn't support 100% of the campus' network (colleges are allowed to support their own if they so choose) we DO have the ability to cut off anyone's network who turns out to have vulnerabilities.
