I don't think we need multiple versions of it. Thorgrim is pretty good at making threads regarding polls and elections. I have no problem with him taking the reigns.

So now certain members can pre-announce threads about future stories we all know about and the membership should fall in line like sheep?

Oh come on. He asked if he could make a thread. I have no problem with him making the thread. If you also want to make a thread after he said something you're more than willing to, but as with most duplicate threads I'm sure they'll get merged. If you know he's going to make a thread on an issue in advance I don't see a reason to try to beat him to the punch or make your own. The thread starter has no ownership rights on the discussion.

Obama up by 12 points according to most recent Rasmussen poll
Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.

Hillary is fading fast.

SC is currently polled at a tie. If the trend of Hillary dying before primaries continues she'll have an even bigger loss there. Women are voted for Obama moreso than Hillary in Iowa:
The entrance poll showed 35 percent of women supporting Obama, which topped the 30 percent for Clinton and 23 percent for former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards. Women outnumbered men at the Democratic caucuses by nearly a 3-to-2 margin.
Young voters, women were key for Obama | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

And SC has a huge black primary vote. That's going to hurt Hillary a lot in SC.

Some more info on NH:
Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Primary Voters say they would be at least somewhat likely to vote for Barack Obama if he is nominated. An identical number, 88%, say the same about John Edwards. Just 80% would consider voting for Hillary Clinton if she is nominated. Those figures reflect a bit more unity than is found among Republicans. John McCain is the only GOP candidate to top the 80% mark on this question.

Obama is seen as the most electable Democratic candidate. Eighty-seven percent (87%) believe he would be at least somewhat likely to win if nominated. Seventy-six percent (76%) say the same about Clinton and 75% think Edwards would have a chance. Fifty-one percent (51%) of the Likely Democratic Primary Voters believe Obama would be Very Likely to win. Just 38% have such confidence in Clinton.
As the Dems continue to lose their confidence in Hillary they're going to keep moving towards Obama.

I get it.

What I don't get is why the converstaion started in the first place.

Are the rules any less obvious and are equal to "all" persons on the board?

If she loses, is this it for Hillary? I would think not unless she finishes in third. She has a solid chance on Super Tuesday with some of the old dog Democratic states like mine (NY), Cali etc. She is not dead yet...

If Edwards drops out by then, Obama will have it a little easier since those progressive votes are most likely going to him and not Hillary but this is far from over

It's Drudge But..
DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2008®
TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS
Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider to the DRUDGE REPORT. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

"Her money is going to dry up," Edwards confided, a top source said Monday morning.

MORE

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state.

"She did not work this hard to get out after one state! All this talk is nonsense," said one top adviser.

But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

Developing...

[The dramatic reversal of fortunes has left the media establishment stunned and racing to keep up with fast-moving changes.

In its final poll before Iowa, CNN showed Clinton with a two-point lead over Obama. Editorial decisions were being made based on an understanding the Democratic primary race would be close, explained a network executive.]

i think McCain will take it for the GOP in NH. i think Romney will be about 5% or more behind. third will be Guiliani/Huckabee.

for the democrats, I think Obama will take it and i might even say Edwards will be second closely followed by Hillary. I think there will be about a 12% difference between Obama and Hillary.
