I just made this post in that thread.

I won't be donating to OT again this year. It is because of the Smods.

There are just too many instances where someone will receive permission to do something, and an Smod comes outta nowhere and bans 'em. Or where someone gets banned just for some BS reason. Remember when Glen banned Ablaze because someone else posted NWS in Ablaze's thread? Or when Glen permabanned Grouch because Grouch was complaining about the way things are being moderated? Or there was the time when I was banned for posting a Ron Paul thread in DIAC.

That's not to say that I dislike this place. I think there are great discussions here, and I like it here. I just don't like a few of the moderators. They're too inconsistent and really enjoy flexing their mod muscles whenever they get a chance. I'd hate to donate money and then find myself receiving a ban a week later for something like this.

I'll express my discontent with these guys by voting with my dollar.

That forum as a whole is mainly a place for immature kids to hang out and promote their e-thug mentality. The forum profits off such people by charging their users (mostly minors) for access to pornography. In order to preserve the e-thug mentality and thus profitability of the site they need jackass smods that instigate and promote such stupid behavior. They may not do it consciously, but it is the reality. The smods have the same childish mentality as their average user.

To their benefit it should also be said that they have to put up with a lot of immature crap. I'm sure they become desensitized to the needs/fairness of the individual users which in all honesty they could give a shit about. I wouldn't want to moderate such an absurdly obnoxious forum base. It takes a certain type of person to be willing to do it for so long. The individual forums can be ok, but overall.. as an smod.. forget it.

They just ridicule everything. IT's become a collection of angry teenagers and 20 somethings who hate everything and talk about jailbait, cooter punch, ,everything sucks, and you suck and I suck, and everyone dates a supermodel and drives an M3.

It's an insane place. I still browse it now and again when I am bored, but I don't post very often anymore.
