Bill'O accused of shoving Obama aide

I have to believe the story as of now. What a jackass O'Rielly is. If there's photos or video of this I hope there aren't a bunch of posters trying to defend O'Rielly on this like the Mike Stark incident.

NASHUA, N.H. -- An aide to Barack Obama said talk-show host Bill O'Reilly shoved him several times at the rope line after a campaign event today.

Marvin Nicholson, Obama's trip director, said the commentator from Fox News Channel pushed him and called him "low class" after Nicholson refused to get out of the way of his cameraman's shot.

"I've worked two campaigns, and I've never had a member of the press lay hands on a staff member before," Nicholson said.

The unusual incident occurred at the end of a rally in which more than 1,500 people jammed a high school gymnasium to see the first-term senator fresh off his victory at the Iowa Caucus.

More than 1,000 people were forced to listen to the speech in a smaller gymnasium next door after the fire marshal closed the room. The campaign said they were not expecting anything like the crowd today.

"There must be a hockey game going on here," Obama said. "We needed a bigger boat."

What's a "shove"? Does it entail two hands to the chest hard push back like we experienced as kids or in a bar fight, or does it mean an arm across the chest to give him a little push to the side?

Go O'Reilly, the guy likely deserved it.

Here's from an eyewitness:

“You’re blocking our shot,” yelled O’Reilly.

“oh am I?” asked the Obama staffer not entirely sincerely and not moving.

This is not a new trick. When staffers block you because you’re being too aggressive, the standard thing to do is give them a little business and then move to another spot. O’Reilly didn’t do this. He shoved the Obama aide. There was an exchange and a little more shoving. I didn’t fully capture because as I looked at O’Reilly in his black leather Fox jacket which resembled the kind we wore during football season in high school I swore I could hear him challenge the staffer to a rumble out by the drive in.

“That’s really low class pal,” said O’Reilly.

I say that if people act like dicks, it's only so long they get away with it before someone gives something in return. O'Reilly is from the mean streets of Boston, he doesn't take shit for too long.

I don't think it's a matter of parsing language, it's like asking the definition of 'is' or whatever it was that Clinton tried to do, it's a matter of physically touching another person purposefully when you have no business doing it.

What business did he have touching someone on Obama's staff at all?

Answer: None

There's no excuse for Orly touching anyone else, certainly not a staffer or security person or whatever this guys official role was.. Orly is not special, if there's a security line that the press is supposed to stay behind, he shouldn't touch anyone who's working with the campaign in an official capacity.

The incident was triggered when O'Reilly--with a Fox News crew shooting--was screaming at Obama National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson "Move" so he could get Obama's attention, according to several eyewitnesses. "O'Reilly was yelling at him, yelling at his face," a photographer shooting the scene said.
O'Reilly grabbed Nicholson's arm and shoved him, another eyewitness said. Nicholson, who is 6'8, said O'Reilly called him "low class."
"He grabbed me with both his hands here," Nicholson said, gesturing to his left arm and O'Reilly "started shoving me." Nicholson said, " He was pretty upset. He was yelling at me."
Secret Service agents who were nearby flanked O 'Reilly after he pushed Nicholson. They told O'Reilly he needed to calm down and get behind the fence-like barricade that contained the press.

Obama had his back turned at this point and did not see any of this.
O'Reilly yelled "sir" at Obama and Obama walked over, not aware of what happened and told him he had an overflow crowd to visit. According to the time code from a photographer shooting the two, Obama and O'Reilly talked near 11:45 a.m. eastern time.

...so I had to gently remove him from that position. No scuffle, I just moved him from the spot.. I might have called him an SOB, that’s possible, nothing more than that. No one on this earth is going block a shot on the O’Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen.

So he admits that he called him names and physically touched the guy inappropriately. Pretty clear cut.

O'Rielly had no right to a shot, nor did he have a right to interview or speak to Obama. If his campaign workers wanted to block his shot they had every right to without being assaulted.

It's always interesting me how the people who proclaim to be Christians and talk about their beliefs (Orly touts his catholicism pretty regularly) and like to rail against the "liberal secular blarblarlahlrhl" manage to act the least Christ-like.
