So I told him I'd try to work something out, but I've already told my parents that my girlfriend and I (and her daughter) are joining my family then, so they're already renting a house on the beach on an island off FL. If we don't go, that means they probably won't rent the house on the beach.

So essentially, if I go to the wedding, I'm ruining my family's vacationg

i went to a wedding the weekend after thanksgiving last year, well 2006 on the saturday. it was fine. people were there. but if it was on thanksgiving, somehow I doubt people would have been there. granted thanksgiving is way more a family time than the 4th of July, still. not on -THAT- day....

think man think.

Yeah I'm not sure how to do this. My woman thinks I should stick to the family plans. But that's my friend, man! I set him up with his wife! I'm in the wedding!

Not the weekend after...I mean the friday the day after thanksgiving, National Shopping Holiday day. The weekend after would have been fine.

That's funny because we don't wear wedding rings either. I think I lost mine a couple years ago.

But, thanks to the date, I never forget our Wedding Day!

It's a momentous date, aside from the hippie aspect...

Columbine was on that day.
It's also Hitler's Birthday.

How romantic, huh?

See, that's how one picks a practical wedding date....not on a national holiday.

I usually wear one but last night was volleyball league night and since a guy smashed his finger and had to have his ring cut off I've been taking mine off when I play. It's in the cup holder in my car.

My fingers swelled from being knocked up. And I do dishes and crap.

It's a lost cause for me.

I hate that when I say I'm married and some asshole spouts "Where's your ring!? " And I have to retort, "who needs a ring to remember their married? I can't forget it if I tried. "

I'm only kidding.

But, I really can't forget it.

A little background:
-I was married
-my 30s had been "well established" at the time"
-she may have been a few 40oz beers beyond her limit

Ok, so I was in Atlanta for a volleyball tournament and was in a bar and this *HOT* girl came up and said "Where's your ring?" I said "What?" and she said "I asked your friend and he said you're married. Where's your ring?!" I spun around and yelled to my friends "I'M GETTING CHECKED OUT BY A HOT COLLEGE CHICK!!!" My friends and I still laugh about that one. My wife has absolutely nothing to worry about. Some of my friends' wives...I'm not so sure.

Well, at least you and I don't need it branded to our foreheads to ward off the hotties!

My friend, who the hottie asked, told my wife that story. She laughed.
I said "I'd never cheat, but it's nice to know I have options." She hit me.
