So over hundreds of years, you had Jews doing special functions for a lot more money than your average starving Christians, and then you had urban jews with a lot more opportunities than rural christians...this lead to a middle/upperclass that was not proportionate to religion/size

Ofcourse, this was all caused by religious intolerance by Christians, strangely enough it was Christian zealotry that almost forced the Jews to make more money than your average Christian

Money breeds more money, and over time people noticed that the Jews ran many banks (because of the old rule of no interest loans, which defeats the purpose of profitable banks) and many businesses (because they were centered around cities)

Ofcourse, without any formal education, they believed it was a conspiracy, and societies love a scapegoat, so when things were rotten, and a boy was starving, there was nothing to get people their minds off starving like the boy telling everyone a jew tried to sacrifice him, and used some of his blood in a satanic ritual

Rumors spread, pogroms start, and the thing is, people remember the original slander, so when a new one comes up, it becomes all the more credible, so blood libel after blood libel starts and people really start to believe it...rumor after rumor about Jews controlling all the money start over Jewish Banking, and it becomes more and more accepted

After centuries, they were such effective scapegoats and so many rumors had built up that Jew hatred had become a favorite past time for Christians

I was wondering if I was the only one to see these two for what they really were. At first I felt some pity for them as their childhoods must have been so very horrible if they feel this way as adults.
But if they are in fact adults they are also responsible for their own actions and words now. Just because they were raised by racist, backward, inbred creatures does not excuse their behavior today.
I have no sympathy for them, only revulsion.

i had the displeasure of meeting one, well rather two one night... this girl i used to be friends with and i went to a singles night about 2+ years ago at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. my friend picked up a guy and we all went out to a bar in Southie afterwards. this guy brought his friend and i felt obliged to talk to him in the bar since his friend and my friend were getting along.

before long we discovered our mutual interest in Germany (mine having lived there and his "supposedly" having traveled there a lot) and then we got into history and the holocaust came up and he made a reference to believing it never happened.

i stopped, looked at him, and said, i'm sorry, did you just say you think the holocaust never happened?

and he said yes.

I turned to my friend and said, tania, i'm tired, i want to go home now.

and we left. when we were walking to the car, i told her what happened and she couldn't believe it. she thought well maybe the guy she picked up didn't think like that, so she dated him a week or two. his racist side eventually came out, and she dumped him.

see, they do travel in packs!
