Basically, the DNC and RNC punished both FL and MI. They will let them vote but the national commitees will not allow them to send all of the delegates to the national convention. Hence, Michigan dems may have 30 delegates but the National party would only allow them to send 15. These numbers are accurate, just an example. Eitherway, Michigan has been struggling for awhile and they hoped they could get some national attention from changing their primary date. It didn't work Look for the Michigan Primary post
