i'll run the BS flag up on this statement. far from it my friend. even if you don't give two shits for baseball, it most certainly is not dead. i'd verture to say it's probably the second most popular sport in the U.S. after football.

I wouldn't worry too much about what Dos said - he's from Nebraska. All they got out there is cow tipping and Cornhusker college football.

Hey Dos, I heard you guys just got the telephone out there, must be exciting for you! Now you don't have to yell across the farm to have a conversation - much more efficient method to coordinate tipping of cows.

For 2007, average attendance for Boston was 36,675. Average Yankee attendance was 52,739. For the rest of MLB, including the grounds crew and commentators in the booth, it was like 26 people.

I would go by attendance. If you consider Nascar as "sport" it would be #1, followed by NFL football (62,000 average), College football (43,000ish). The NBA averaged 17,700 last year but are limited by arena size. Baseball is in the mid 30k range.

Furthermore... 162 games?? really? What the hell is that about? Do they really need THAT many games to figure out who the best is? They couldn't get it done in say...62 games? They need 162 games like the libertylounge needs a "jesus didn't need to learn english" thread.

We figure out the best NFL team in 19 games and the best college team in 13-14 games.

We figure out the best NFL team in 19 games and the best college team in 13-14 games.

so by your reasoning, then baseball is the most popular sport if you take 30K x 162 games = 4,860,000 for just one team for the year as opposed to football at 62,000 a game x 16 regular season games = 992,000 a team per year......

and nascar isn't a sport. it's an excuse for rednecks to come out in droves and talk about diddling their cousin.

Because people will watch it when its on. not because they like figure skating, but because they like watching athetic girls in skimpy outfits prance around and lift thier legs up over thier heads.

I meant per event. There is no way to play 162 games of football... its actually physically demanding...you know...steroids would probably make a difference...because they are athletes.

And i dont know who you have been talking to but i haven't diddled anything.

so horniness takes over love of actual sport.....
