Huckabee said something about wanting to re-write the constitution through Christian values. He couldn't buy my vote now. McCain I haven't liked for many years. He's wishy washy on issues. Some say he's principled and his views change as the circumstances change. Fine, even if I were to accept that then it would mean I would have to trust his judgment over his current positions. I don't. Romney changed every political position he's held for this campaign it seems. That makes him untrustworthy. Kerry got a lot of slack for being a flip-flopper. Kerry is like a rock compared to Romney. The only saving grace he has is that I would say he has a decent understanding of the economy and he probably won't screw up as badly as McCain or Huck. And to be honest, I really don't care what his positions are on abortion and most of the other things he flip-flopped on. I wouldn't vote for a candidate based on their positions towards abortion or gay marriage anyway. Paul is a politician who would shake up the two party system. Sadly I don't think he'd be able to get much done. He'd probably unite the Democrats and Republicans against him to override him and he'd be a lame duck. The way he handled the newsletters was nothing short of disgraceful to his campaign and his supporters. Hillary Clinton is the typical mainstream, corrupt politician who has been in Washington too long. I'm also not looking forward to the Clinton Family Drama becoming the focus of America for another term. I'd also prefer not to vote for a corrupt politician when there are other candidates available. I think her health care plan is a bit odd considering she takes more money from healthcare lobbyists than anyone else and her program mandates people to invest into the healthcare industry... I'd say I'm a bit skeptical. I don't see her as trustworthy to begin with. So we're left with Obama. He's probably the most principled politician running who has a shot at the White House. We've been robbed of a good president for quite some time. We had JFK, hell even Reagan. Now look what we've been stuck with: Bushes and Clintons. It would be nice to expect more and get more out of a president. I believe Obama has the potential to be another JFK-type president. His political positions are not extreme and his views strike me as being honest rather than political rhetoric he thinks he needs to say just to get elected. For these reasons I'll vote for him, until he gives me a reason not to. Simply put nobody else has really given me much of a reason to vote for them, but a lot of reasons why I shouldn't.
