Richest counties in america

I was suprised that the west coast didn't really appear on this list.

But no, I think CA appeared on the list of 20 richest counties... once.
NJ had a good showing along with NY, but MD and VA really took the most. . So once again the east coast proving that it's better, smarter and richer than the west coast.

Hey is it just a cooincidence that the richest areas are stretched just north and south of Washington DC? Hmm.

I work in NJ's richest county, it has been the richest county in America by some other raters for most of the years after 2000.

NJ cheats though because of our asinine cost of living due to corrupt Democratic politicians.

I think the high cost of living might be a bit more complicated that just that.

It's not a coincidence. Minorities who would otherwise be unemployable can come here, affirmative action their way into a menial fed job and eventually collect six figure welfare checks for showing up to work 4 or 5 days a week.

I've lived in the DC area since High School. I think they completely ignore the fact that Northern Virginia is the center of the www and VERY tech heavy...which I would consider a greater source of this wealth than lobby groups etc.

I think we are all just so used to seeing images of Beverly Hills, Hollywood, seeing rich actors driving around LA in thier expensive cars and stuff, we see the OC on TV with rich people... that sorta thing. I think people just come to think that California is where the rich people are.

There are still very rich areas. But they are not county size and some are getting smaller. Hollywood has not been what it once was for decades. I doubt most of the stars even live their anymore? What you see on the OC I think is the Ocean Front areas? I don't watch that show. Most of the OC is actually inland and is much like La County. Primarily middle class and lower middle class homes and apartments. It is also getting more and more crowded like La County.

In the 80's we called the OC Mall Rats "Valley Girls."
