| im new here-just saying hello i used to think of politics as a type of college football experience--where both parties enjoyed the "game" of politics--the ad wars on both sides--the mud-slinging and the perceived acheviement of one or the others party platform and implementation of their campaing goals- one party savored the reward of a victory--the other would be humbled in defeat-- on sept 11th everything i ever thought about politics changed- initaily i was so angry that i thought i was turning into a right wing nut!! i was out for blood and was eager for us to bomb somebody--anybody! it took me 3 weeks to become a rational person again--someone that could read, and think, and become informed about the attack on my country- i read everything-and i wanted to have an understanding of how--and why this happend- we have to be dilligent and this so called "war-on-terror" is nessicary--but the manner in which we have engaged our enimes--and our bullshit attempts at diplomacy have endangered us three-fold- this person who is "the-decider" and the leader of my beloved US of A--has said he does not read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that he lets others give him summaries of the events taking place around the world--on a need to know basis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is completely insane- what half-way educated--important person refuses to read the freaking world news?!?! that is like a pre-requsite for the position of PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA-- it is also important for people who want to be just plain ol citizens-of-the world- everyone should have some idea about what difficulties are being managed in the 2nd and 3rd world countries--which are taking gobs of jobs from our blue-collar work force and working poor-- just on a human level--it's important to be grateful and knowledgeable about how blessed we are to have born here and how we need to take advantage of every oppourtunity that is afforded to us because of our county of orign and the power and strength that resides here-- america is the greatest country in the world-(canada is not bad either)_but it could and should be better- our persident told us that he does not READ--that god--advises him---and he decides--he told the insurgents in iraq to: BRING IT ON"!!! and in the same press conference as the "bring it comments...he was asked a carefully worded question about "MISTAKES" HE HAD made and he said" "NONE--I DON'T THINK IVE MADE ANY....EXCEPT SOME OF THE PEOPLE I PLACED IN KEY CABINET POSITIONS ECT." the above is paraphrased-- anyway it was shortly after the paul oneil book came out--then he was treasury dept head and had just met with bono about 3rd world dept releif-- anyway, he resigned shortly after his trip to africa and wrote a not too positive book about the presidents stubborness and the bubble his cronies keep around him- he has no intellectual-curiosity and that is beyond frightening!! that is the only thing that moves people towards understanding-- and that is essiental for undersandting the dangerous world we live in post--911 you have to open you mind-- anyway--im going to shut the hell up now- i hope there is someone here who understands my fustration- i know steven colbert and jon stewart do for sure-- the colbert report is absolutely the most brilliant show on television- later | ||||

It's become a game of pandering to the lowest common denominator. I'm more genuinely concerned at this point with what happens in Europe, because I think most of their citizens aren't braindead, and the trends there represent the future of humanity, whereas America is taking a step back.
