WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's positive rating has dropped to a new low of 37 percent in an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released on Wednesday.

According to the poll, the New York senator's positive rating slid 8 percentage points in two weeks and she had a negative rating of 48 percent in a week where she admitted making a mistake in claiming she had come under sniper fire during a 1996 trip to Bosnia.

Clinton's Democratic rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, also saw a slight dip in his positive rating, to 49 percent from 51 percent, the poll found.

She's had some doozies from big things to small things like saying she played for her highschool soccer team (only they didn't have a soccer team when she attended), and being named after a rock climber (who didn't climb until 5 years after she was born)...

After 9-11, Hillary had a problem. New Yorkers were desperately focused on their own needs for protection and they were saddled with a Senator who was not one of them — an Arkansan or was it a Chicagoan?

Interviewed on the Today Show one week after 9-11, she spun an elaborate yarn. The kindest thing we could say was that it was a fantasy. Or a fabrication.

She said that Chelsea was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9-11 and happened to duck into a coffee shop when the airplanes hit. She said that this move saved Chelsea’s life. But Chelsea told Talk Magazine that she was in a friend’s apartment four miles from ground zero when the first plane hit. Her friend called her, waking her up, and told her to turn on the TV. On television, she saw the second plane hit, disproving Hillary’s claim that “she heard the plane hit. She heard it. She did.”

So why did Hillary make up the story about Chelsea? Most likely to was because her co-Senator (and implicit rival for the voter’s affection), a real New Yorker Chuck Schumer spoke of his daughter, who attended Stuyvesant High School (Dick’s alma mater) located next to the Trade Center, being at real risk on 9-11. Hillary needed to make herself part of the scene.

She invented the entire story on national television, the Today Show, and didn’t blink an eye.

I can't wait for the video of this lie to hit the internet. She got so used to lying and never being called out on it. There's quite a history of these fabrications. They're all over the place. Conservatives used to talk about them but they were discarded as nuances because she was Bill's wife and the person repeating them were conservative. But the fact is she's running for POTUS and she's a quite possibly a pathological liar.

Trust me I don't want to defend her, but the person who quoted her got it wrong. She originally said chelsea planned to head down that way, she didn't say she was heading down that way.

As the transcript reveals, Sen. Clinton did not say -- as Buchanan falsely claimed -- that Chelsea was "out jogging that morning and stopped near the towers, heard the planes crash"; rather, that Chelsea "was going to go around the towers." In addition, Buchanan's assertion that Chelsea said she "never left the apartment that morning" is contradicted by a November 9, 2001, UPI article about a piece Chelsea wrote in Talk magazine:

I heard it was close, but that was some time ago.

I am near 100% convinced that Obama is the candidate. All that remains will be the public spectacle of whatever it will take to get her to quit before the convention.

I also predict that Obama will not want her as a VP, and if that happens it will be a weak compromise on his part.
