There should be a limit on how much the tax payer is billed for in this day and age. If the President' net worth is say 10 million anytime after they leave office, they ought to cease getting tax payer money.

He'd look like a failure on welfare...too much of a loser to avoid government plans for the president, and the whole situation would just make our country look bad...you need to look at the big picture

Imagine someone like Mike Huckabee, he's no Bush/Romney/Clinton...he simply doesn't have that much money...4 years of being in office im sure he would have been kicked out, and then what? He's a nice guy, but as Jimmy Carter can tell you, you don't get big speaking fees as a one-term president who wasn't very popular...and after the presidency your political life is over, and you can't really get a private job that's real because that's insulting the office the presidency...so supposing he doesn't get those speeaking jobs...he'd be living off the pension, and then the whole world would laugh at him because Clinton and Bush were living in complete luxury without any assistance while he needed the plan

We'd all look like a fucking disgrace in the end

First, I don't agree with your premise. Secondly, there's a difference between accepting tax payer money and abusing the system.

Again, Huckabee would have been the "president who needs to live off the government because no one likes him" and Bush-Clinton would be "the successful presidents who made $10 million after their term ended"

The only reason we know how much Clinton made is because his wife is running, every other president's worth is kept private (for good reason). We, the public, will never know who is making what and who is getting a stipend and who is not, so there would be no one to make fun of.

their income is kept private, the amount the government gives them is well accounted for...and it would be noticed whether they took it or not

if it wasn't for hillary, wright and "cling to guns/rel" would have really really screwed him, but because a lot of americans are watching a primary fight, he's going to be able to weather them

If Hillary had given in, we'd have seen Obama with a 10pt lead, but with those two things, he'd be dropping like a rock

To me that is more of an issue than some of the crap going on about Obama's comments. His comments were stupid and should of been phrased better but he obviously cares about people, her ACTIONS on issues have shown misjudgment (the war) and flat out lies (support of NAFTA), that is far more important than a Obama misstatement
