He set the funding on the first bill and it got wittled down some but not drastically it was still the largest education bill in the history of the nation.

The earmarks thing is hilarious. He approved every piece of spending that he got from the GOP congress. Every bill chock full o pork, every piece of special interest garbage, he approved it all. Now that the Democrats controll congress, it's suddenly a problem. What a joke.

Next time you're having a beer with them say "I think parents should be able to walk in a school unannounced and check out his kid's teachers' lesson plans."

Be ready to duck.

Well they do have parent visitation days when the parents can come and observe whenever they want. And they also have parent teacher conferences so that they can discuss thier kids progress.

I honestly think that it would be a bad idea to let parents review lesson plans. They don't know anything about teaching, they don't have degrees in education or masters degrees and such. It would be like me going to the doctor and telling him that he's doing it wrong. Yeah they should have some input, afterall it's thier child, but as for actually reviewing lesson plans? I think that's counter productive.

that's not what I said

actually change what I said to "any TAXPAYER should be able to walk in a school unannounced and check out any teacher's lesson plans." Maybe throw in "They're public employees, I should be able to check their work."

Of course it's an awful idea, THATS THE POINT!! Keep a straight face for as long as you can.
