WASHINGTON - There's no evidence Saddam Hussein had ties with al-Qaida, according to a Senate report on prewar intelligence that Democrats say undercuts President Bush's justification for invading Iraq.

Bush administration officials have insisted on a link between the Iraqi regime and terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Intelligence agencies, however, concluded there was none.

I dont' think this will make any difference in the public perception...the Bush admin's technique of connection through insinuation has proven notoriously hard to counter. The GOP can have 100 messages insenuating there is a connection for every 1 time a Dem mentions this. Guess who's gonna win in the war of ideas?

Shit like this is why I'm so cynical about politics. Truth is whatever you can get your PR machine to convince the public it is.

Their "all-star panel" and news anchor all dismissed the GOP senate report toughened by Republicans Collins and Hagel, and basically said there was still an al qaeda connection, and there was no talk about ANY of the dismissed charges, it was all pro-GOP talking points by every panelist and the anchor himself

I just wish they'd put in ONE moderate sometimes...i get so sick of this "2 ultra-conservatives, 1 conservative and a conservative anchor" Like less than a third of the electorate is the only one worth hearing from...

they should have one liberal one, every "panel" of like 3+ people should have Neal Gabler as the liberal, Juan Williams as the moderate, and then put whatever conservative (they have so frickin many) and the anchor

But I'd perfectly willing to settle for a conservative anchor, 2 ultra conservatives, and Neal Gabler
