I'm going to Disney World!!!

First time ever. Yep, 42 years old and I have never been to Disney World. So, what should I not miss? We bought 7 day passes so I hope we can see most everything.

Oh, we are also taking the super cheap SkyBus airlines $60 a person round trip. I have heard good things about them but I'll report back and tell you how it was.

We leave tomorrow! Yip!!!!!

I've been wondering how the new SkyBus thing is.. so cheap makes me a little concerned about the quality.. so definitely let us know

You gotta ride Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom), it's an institution. I actually prefer a lot of the stuff at MGM though...

All of the following are musts at the MGM park:

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
The Great Movie Ride
Star Tours - The Ultimate Star Wars Thrill Ride
Tower of Terror
Aerosmith Rock 'n' Rollercoaster
MGM Studios Backlot Tour

If your kids are fairly young (under 10) the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure & Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3-D should be fun for them too. Movie Set Adventure is like a big playground where everything is over sized. Twelve foot tall blades of grass and shit, that was fun to go through even when I went there when I was 16. The muppet 3d thing is fun as well, though certainly a little more little-kiddy.

You can get more details on any of these here: Disney-MGM Studios Walt Disney World Orlando Florida

I've been to Orlando twice, once with my folks when I was 10 and then again with my high school band when I was 16. Awesome both times.

Yeah, we are leaving out of PTI. SkyBus is expanding and are hoping to make PTI a hub in the next few years. The family we are going with got their tickets for $25 each. They ordered their tickets 10 minutes before we did

Oh, to get assigned seats you have to pay $20 extra. Otherwise it's like Southwest and is first come first serve. It's $5 per suitcase. No food or drinks on the plane unless you pay for it and you aren't allowed to bring your own either. But they are more of a regional airline so I don't think that is a big deal. It's not like you are flying cross country with them. I think all of their planes are Airbus A319's which are good sized jets.

Singles cruise, eh? You are likely to see some pretty interesting things. Not as interesting as if it was a "couples" cruise though.

As is the Aerosmith ride. It's one of those rollercoasters with the magnetic launch so you're 0-60 in like 3 seconds, and the whole ride is a ton of loops and crazy twists. It's an indoor coaster and mostly dark (like Space Mountain) which just makes it that much more fun.

When I went with school we got to go ride Space Mountain before the park opened with the lights on. It was so much less fun, the sense of speed just isn't there when you can see everything.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_'n'_Roller_Coaster

0-57mph in 2.8 seconds (2nd only to the Test Track, another must-ride that is in Epcot I think, among Disneyworld rides). Experience 4.5g (greater than an astronaut experiences on lift-off) at the first inversion.

it's literally like you're a crash test dummy, you go through a hill climb, suspension test, a cone course without ABS, a cone course with ABS, environmental tests, handling tests, barrier test, then for a run on the outside loop at 65mph.

I've never been either - I guess I'll go once I have a family. I don't think it's a good look for a 29 year old single man to be walking around a park meant for children

you'd be surprised.......there are plenty of single people there. Disney's like a cult thing.
