A few of my friends who are Republicans have said similar things lately.. there was a story on drudge about how if McCain was the nominee, Republicans were considering becoming "suicide voters" (their phrase, not mine) and vote for Hillary because they believe she'll be such a disaster that it'll set up the Republicans for another majority..

everyone gets streaks of thought...stages in their life they lean one way, certain libertarian ideas had, on their face, appeal, i know what the average Ron Paul supporter feels like...but I will never understand how someone grabs their blanket in fear looking at Sweden while Neocons are looking to grab control for another 4 years

That's because you are blind to what the Democrats do, but you have an accurate vision of what Republicans do.

You're seeing half the picture, and like me, you're scared to death of the part you see accurately (or perhaps I should say, from my viewpoint)... But you don't see what I see when I look at your party.

I won't insult your intelligence by repeating past comments on the things you've brought up - You refuse to even question it and that's your right. It's not the end of the world or something, but it's not how I want to live at all.

Enjoy your victory though. Not everyone can be happy and at this point in time, it really looks like you could experience the world you want to live in. I just wish you guys could do it where I'm not

so ballz is saying i didn't explain it correctly.... let me see if i can re-surmise.....

right now the GOP nominee is someone who is not conservative, and in no way represents the GOPs conservative values or beliefs. that means there are going to be two liberals running for presidency. now he doesn't vote for a liberal because he doesn't believe their ideas are best for the country. so to him, because there are two liberals running, our country is going to be 'hurting' no matter who we pick. that means it pretty much comes down to this...he doesn't want whoever ruins the next presidency to have a 'republican' by their name, given that neither of them are. when things go bad, at least the blame can be placed on the correct ideology...the democratic ideology.

this has nothing to do with 'blaming america' or 'wanting what's best for our country'. at this point, he's already convincing himself that what's best for the country is a long way off. he'll have to wait for the next election for that. now it's a matter of political positioning to allow conservatives the opportunity to do that.

bush has already given conservatives a bad name...the last thing we need is mccain doing the same thing. let the democrats be in charge of liberal policies, not the 'republicans'.
