| so ballz called me yesterday.... I texted him asking if he's finally gonna throw his support behind McCain now that Romney is out. He was a Thompson supporter as most of you know, and considering that Thompson gave his support to McCain after he dropped out, you would think Ballz would agree. but no. he answered me that he's going to vote for Obama and asked if i wanted to know why. I told him to fuck off and no reason was a good reason. so last night he called to tell me why. I still don't understand his visibly flawed logic: he wants a liberal in office, so they can fuck it up even more and then they can't complain its fucked up even more because another republican was in office, not it's their fault this time. um. yeaaaaaah. and he calls himself conservative! (and i said that)... not a valid reason me thinks. you vote! valid, yea or nay.... and that's my rant.

| I'm not saying obama would fuck up the country, but he believes obama would fuck up the country. So he wants obama to get elected so he can fuck up the country just so conservatives can say "told ya so!" That's pretty fucking stupid right there folks. | ||||

| We both know come november he'll calm down...he won't vote Obama (Not that it matters, MA is a blue state no matter what happens) Whether he votes for Obama or you vote for McCain is completely irrelevant to the election That being said, he's admitted multiple times he knew nothing about politics and only picked up a few conservative facts from trolling OT, and he hasn't had time since to really look up politics...he really knows little to nothing about politics so I wouldn't worry myself with his outlook | ||||

| so thewise1 if the exit polls come in, and 99% of the votes are for the two candidates...this isn't about who you'd vote for, and you already know a 3rd candidate didn't get any signficant votes...but who are you going to prefer wins as the returns come in...? | ||||

If so, neither really jumps out at me. McCain will be less likely to move farther toward the kind of state I fear in some ways (tax policy, social programs, gun control), but Obama will *probably* be less likely to implement more DHS bullcrap that spies on citizens or infringes that set of rights. So as you can see I'm in a bit of a crappy situation - whoever wins, I lose. I wish I could tell you but the way I see it it's kind of a toss up, very hard to care at all at this point :\ | ||||

| I'm always confused why libertarian leaners are more afraid of POSSIBLY paying more taxes, and more social programs than they are of national security hawks with their data mining, domestic spying, the right to a trial, et al I mean, you look at 1984, and then you look at Sweden Just looking at Sweden honestly scares you more than reading 1984? | ||||

| That and for many libertarians the Milton Friedman school of thought is very much their viewpoint: economic freedom breeds political freedom; if you take away economic freedom, political freedom isn't far behind. | ||||
