You think the International Community approves another political round of looting Foreign owned property? The very thing that drives away outside investment?

I really don't think so.

the risk of doing international business is that the country may decide to confiscate your shit and then when you go to court to get it back they can stop selling you the oil their collecting with the equipment they stole from you?

I'd be absolutely giddy if exxon paid some mercenaries to go blow it all up with old-school BIG fireball producing explosives. I'd watch that over and over on youtube.

Have you noticed our standing in the world lately? You honestly think they're going to pull for the U.S. oil company with stratospheric profits against an underdog Democratic populist leading a country in a region that has long been the home of U.S.-backed puppet governments?

I really don't think so.

China, Iran, Russia, and many other countries would love to stick it to us by bailing Chavez out.

Check out what Gazprom did to its international partners. The western oil companies didn't try any shit like they did with PDV because they knew Putin would give them a heart attack or shoot some polonium into their bloodstream.
