If the delegates are sort of in Obamas favor by a small margin

But the super delegates swing towards Hillary, allowing her to win, what does this do for the Democratic voters?

Does it disenfranchise everyone that voted for Obama giving him the lead leaving them to stay in when November swings around? It is quite a possibility, (personally I think Obama has it locked down).

I think at the start of the race the superdelegates favored Clinton. But I have a feeling after the type of campaign Clinton has ran they're going to be more in favor of Obama. She brought back too many bad memories and I think the superdelegates are going to vote based on electability. As long as Obama pulls in more delegates I think he'll get the nomination.

It's happened in the past when Mondale won the nomination.
I think if it happens today that people will be VERY angry. I know I would be.

I think so as well. It would split the party and ruin their voter turnout. It might even cost them the election. I think the superdelegates know this though.

That is the one thing that will make me vote for McCain.

If Hillary wins the nomination honestly, I will simply vote third party.

If, however, the superdelegates go against the will of the voters, I will definitely consider McCain as a vote of protest against the system.

Also, I can only imagine the war this would create in the Democratic party.

Remember, a lot African Americans and independents are voting for Obama who would not have voted otherwise. If Obama has the lead but the SD go to Hillary, it would be a serious disenfranchise to blacks that for too long did not have a voice (sometimes by choice but many times by design) and alienating independents who the Demos need to win the election - the Demos would basically hand over the independents to McCain. It would be political suicide.

if the superdegalates go against what the voters wanted it will result in McCain winning by a landslide. They will be alienating over half their primary voters a short time before the national election.

It will piss a whole lot of them off!

I think anything that looks like a political party manuver against Obama will stir up a real hornets nest of Nutroots, Black Activists, and just plain Obama Worshipers. And Hillary knows this and that is why she so desperatley wants Texas and Ohio! This momentum is very bad for her Coronation!

I think you are right. I think the party knows it. Even Pelosi made a hint of trouble today.
