Inflation is worse because it eats away at savings and most of your assets while taxes are simply a portion of income.

Did I get that right?

Well, during WWII, taxes were at about 95%, so it all depends on what the taxing authority wants to do. They can change rates as needed and they have the mandatory distributions rules for qualified accounts (IRA's etc.) that they can always change....

I'd take taxes over inflation though, because they're transparent and can be planned for while at a minimum I could maintain my purchasing power (quality of money).

Well, if you read the blog, the answer is you're going to get kicked in the balls with a steel toed boot AND hit in the head with a Louisville Slugger!

Higher taxes. Inflation would be harder to overcome.

Besides, taxes like the income tax, etc. can generally be thought of ahead and you can work around them.

They can also be clearly seen in most cases. We don't see inflation or even think about it until you get old enough to understand that the value of every dollar you save has been eroded away.
