going to sturgis in august

I was planning to go next year but plans changed. I started booking hotel rooms and some of the places I called are already filled...when I said I wanted 2 rooms one lady laughed at me and said "then you should have called last year."

Anyway, back to my question. I'm riding from boston to sturgis, south dakota...map shows it's basically route 90 the entire way.

Considering I'll never do this again (4,000 miles in 9 days will probably only be fun once), what should I detour to see along the trip?

the list of things to see:
mt. rushmore
niagra falls
toll booths in IL

Go see Niagra Falls when you're passing through Buffalo?

I don't know beyond that, I only hopped on 90 going east in Cleveland, Ohio when I drove from Dallas to Boston.
