Voting Info For Texans

ATTENTION TEXANS

The Texas primary election consists of two separate processes - a ballot vote and a precinct convention vote (caucus-style). If you do not do BOTH, your vote will not be counted at a 100% weight. To find your precinct voting locations, CALL 1-800-252-8683.

You need to know these thing in order to vote in both the primary (ballot-style) AND the precinct convention (caucus-style) voting:
1. Your precinct ballot location AND your precinct convention location. It is possible that these will NOT be the same location. Call ahead (1-800-252-8683) to find out if your precinct convention location is in the same place as your primary ballot location; OR look for a sign that tells your convention location when you cast your primary ballot (if you cast it early).

2. You must have your voter registration card with you for the primary (ballot-style) vote and with you, AND stamped, for the precinct convention (caucus-style) vote.

3. Cast your vote BEFORE 3/4/08; OR cast your ballot earlier in the day on 3/4/08; OR arrive at your precinct voting location by 6:30 to cast your ballot. Precinct convention voting is not supposed to start until after the last ballot is cast, but there are no guarantees these rules will be followed.

4. Have your voter registration card stamped to prove that you have voted in the ballot primary OR get a voter receipt that proves you voted. If you have sent in an early vote, your precinct officials will have that info and will be able to stamp your voter registration form, or give you a receipt, so arrive early. This will enable you to vote in the precinct convention (caucus-style) vote.

5. Have your primary ballot cast, your voter registration stamped (or a receipt), and arrive at your precinct convention location NO LATER THAN 7:00 PM to participate in the precinct convention.

I know this is quite confusing for people who have never done this before, but it is VERY IMPORTANT to participate in the precinct convention voting (caucus). If you do not, Hillary could lose out on the full benefit of your vote!

BE PRESENT AT YOUR PRECINCT CONVENTION (CAUCUS-STYLE) PLACE ON MARCH 4 NO LATER THAN 7:00 pm. CST, WITH PROOF OF YOUR PRIMARY BALLOT VOTING, TO INSURE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONVENTION (CAUCUS)

DOORS WILL BE CLOSED AND POSSIBLY LOCKED AT 7:15 PM !!
