there are also people who believe we did go, but that just the first trip was faked because we wanted to be first and couldn't take the chance that the russians would launch before us.

For every major event in history there are people that will try to prove it didn't happen, or it didn't happen like it was told.

The Moon, Pearl Harbor, most plane crashes, 9/11, Kennedy, Waco, Area 51 etc.

Nothing big happens without kooks saying they know the real story.

Area 51 is a real weird case...im not waving my flag about aliens making contact in 1948, but they do some really weird shit there, honestly, as the world's lone super power, do we need to keep that many secrets? Every military in the world is like 10-20 years behind us

We are blackmailing the alien sociologists that if they don't keep us ahead in technology by at least 2 decades we'll release the information that they are watching us. This would ruin their carefully crafted social experiment of "What would a civilization do if they didn't know there was civilized life on every single planet in the universe?"

But it's pretty ridiculous that in open american court, the US military and government denies the existance of Area 51, yet everyday dozens+ of American civilians take a plane ride into Area 51

Well it is a good thing we keep the fact we have a base there a secret. I'd hate for any unauthorized personnel to realize that. I mean, shit, if it gets out we have a top secret military base in that area Russia might send a spy satellite and take some pictures of it. But since we deny it is there Russia doesn't even think to point its satelites in that direction.

it would be remarkable if there werent behind the scenes shenanigans & smoke filled back rooms where power od dealt & deals cut etc.

its how humans behave, ..., i can see evidence of such stuff even on the the blandest of message boards

equally any huge successfull conspiracy, especially if centuries old, would have its whistleblowers, schisms etc as thats how humans behave too.

NI business man, Brendan Duddy was for 20 years the go between the IRA & UK govt
in 93 the UK govt was given a message the gist of which was that the conflict was over but the IRA needed British advice on how to end its war.

Several times Major has said the message came from IRA leader Martin Mcguiness, who has always denied this

Duddy now says he didnt make it up meaning only his MI6 (MI5?) contact 'Robert' could have made it up, ..., which if true is truely astounding
