| Tables have turned: MS exit polls show Clinton supporters less likely to vote Obama Sen. Barack Obama will win Mississippi's Democratic primary, CNN projects. Interestingly, exit polls shows that of those who voted for Obama, 42% said they would be satisfied if Sen. Hillary Clinton was the nominee. Among Clinton voters, only 16% said they would be satisfied if Obama wins the party's top spot. Obama Wins in Mississippi -- Political Wire So looks like Obama would be heading the party to defeat if he doesn't work out something with Hillary, who may infact end up with the popular vote lead if Florida/Michigan revotes properly | ||||

| Dirty politics has its toll. Hillary is essentially telling her supporters if she isn't the nominee they should vote for McCain. | ||||

| Just as a follow-up. 99% reported thus far and Obama is up by 24 points. It's a rather large blow out headed into PA which Hillary is the strong favorite. Apparently calling the entire state of Mississippi sexist wasn't a good campaign strategy for Hillary. I don't think she thought the primaries would go on this long when she made those statements. Lastly, to use your logic, it's a red state so why care what the exit polls show since it will be republican anyway?

| You know what Thor? just because your favorite candidate is trying to divide the democratic party more than her rival is... and it is working (assuming those exit polls are right) considering her supporters are becoming more "Hillary or bust" than her rival's supporters are... That doesn't make me more inclined to vote for her or hope she wins the primaries. That just makes me hope she will succumb to her inevitable defeat even quicker since her staying in the race 1. She has no chance she'll secure the nomination without some blatantly dirty tricks at the convention 2. If there are dirty tricks at the convention the Dems lose anyway 3. She is hurting the Democrats chances more than helping them by supporting the Republican candidate over Obama who will inevitably secure the nomination (barring 1 and 2). Considering you are a die in the wool Democrat, I'm surprised you spend so much time trying to make the Democrat candidate who will secure the nomination look bad. I understand you like Hillary more than Obama... But I really doubt you'd rather have McCain in office than Obama. Just some food for thought. But good luck with the whole zOMG Obama is the worst candidate ever thing you have going on. | ||||

Strange after Hillary lost in Iowa, no one was talking about how the Democrats were being divided, but after Obama started losing in New Hampshire and Nevada, then the desperate race cards start being drawn, people start getting divided, and he got the upper hand Good short term call, but it only lead to situations where states like Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc are showing polls with Clinton with double digit leads against him as of today If Obama chooses to join a ticket with Hillary, how would that in and of itself be a dirty trick? I didn't root for Kerry in the 2004 primary because it was obvious he knew little about national politics and was going to play the "oh im the change candidate, k vote for me thnx, ignore the negative ads" Obama is going to do the same thing and lose, not only that but if he somehow pulls off a win, he looks like he'll spend all his post-election momentum getting nothing done Ofcourse, McCain would be much worse, but Obama is still setting up to be disappointing | ||||

| Obama and Clinton are both losing Michigan by 3 points to McCain as of TODAY Who do you think has more of a chance of taking a nose dive in the polls? Be honest Once the GOP labels him as the terrorist muslim non-patriotic inexperienced coke-snorting slumlord-connected...etc it's going to wear and wear and come poll time, much like we saw in NH, good money has it there will be a dramatic shift and he will drop like a rock in final vote Obama is fresh and new, he's had impressive victories, the economy is looking worse everyday, people hate the war in Iraq, they are sick of the Republicans, if he was 1/10th the candidate people on here make him out to be, he should be beating McCain by 20pts in all the Kerry states, and 10pts in Florida/Ohio/Iowa/New Mexico Who wants to gamble on a guy who is already wearing thin on many democrats and the public in general...and is losing to a frickin Republican who went hard-right and has a rich history of scandals regarding Keating 5 That's what Hillary and many others are thinking, why do you think the superdelegates haven't rallied to Obama? They know it's more likely than not he'll lose to McCain, hey...Reagan won in 1980 so anything can happen, but if I was at the convention, ofcourse I'd go for Hillary first, but then I'd look for anyone else who could rally the party together, Al Gore is the perfect choice | ||||
